Welcome to the Community Health Nursing Clinical wiki
Hello to you all!!

Glad you made it to our wiki site! I trust this will be a great way for us to communicate and collaborate to learn together about community health nursing and as we complete course activities.

You may be wondering, "What's a wiki?" In the navigation menu (left hand side) under the "What's a wiki?" tab, I've provided some information and short videos that will help get everyone oriented to how a wiki works. Watch these before reading more...

Check out the tabs at the top of this page to understand how to use the discussion forum, how to determine what's recently been added to the site, and other helpful functions.

In the navigation box under the Log Pages link, you'll find a log page for each of you. You'll need to note your hours, activities, and the course objective numbers related to your activities. Include the number of hours of work you complete and add them to the current total at the bottom of the log. I've provided a sample.

In the navigation menu under Rough draft for clinical "at risk" paper you'll find links to pages that correspond to the sections of the "Guidelines for Clinical Paper on an "At Risk" Polutaion" (see page 6 in syllabus). You'll use these pages to create drafts of each section of the paper.

In the navigation menu under Rough draft for project you'll find links to pages that correspond to the sections of the "Community Project Guidelines" (see page 7 in syllabus). You'll use these pages to create drafts of each section of the paper.

There's also a link to the References section. Everyone will participate by adding to this section as you search the literature for relevant resources.

To get stated ... First create a personal profile and include a picture (a headshot preferably) of yourself. After all class members have joined the wiki, I'll make it private so that no one but us can access the information here.

Since I'm the administrator of this site, my view of the pages may be different than yours so if something looks "funny" email me & we'll try to get it figured out.

OK, I think that is enough to get us started.

Hey i was snooping around yesterday looking for supplies to support the school nurse
found a temporal thermometer that reads accurately in 6-9 sec for 32.88 and does not require probes.

also cheaper oral thermometer (digital) from 2.96 to 5.96 readout from 60 sec to 9 sec but requires a probe cover for each use (30 covers are 1.50)
spoke with some people who have used the oral agent blue and they state that the general consensus is it does not work well and recommended speaking to dentist offices about the chewable tabs...just a thought.

Hi guys,

I spoke to one of my friends that is a dental hygienist at Monarch Dental and she said that she would be able to get us some tooth paste and tooth brushes. I don't know how many yet, but she said she will definitely be able to donate a few.
